Listening Blog #9 - Week 11/15
For this week's blog post I decided to write about Tina Turner’s song What's Love Got to Do With It. Miss Tina Turner is an icon in general so there was no doubt that I had to talk about this song. The beat to this song is so good and it literally makes you want to get up and dance. Turner’s voice goes perfectly with this beat and honestly it couldn’t be better. The lyrics can be relatable to a lot of people. She talks about how she's clearly been hurt in the past and is scared to love so she's asking what love has to do with it. The audience this is targeted at is people who want to be “physical” but don’t want feelings of love involved or literally anyone who likes the beat and wants to dance. I like this song a lot and my family played a lot of Tina Turner growing up so I know a lot of her work and this being one of my favorites. The lyrics “who needs a heart, when a heart can be broken?” goes so hard haha. Tina Turner absolutely ate with this song and it's forever a banger.
I really liked your blog choice for this week. I have only listened to this song when it is in the background music in movies so I have never actually listened to it. I agree with you on those section of lyrics, it does go really hard! The way you also explain the song was done very well.
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your blog post this week! I totally agree with you that this song is an absolute banger. It's definitely very relatable. I love songs that can be enjoyed by people in completely different ways.
ReplyDeleteThe song is so upbeat and fun, but it's also a great heartbreak anthem.
