Listening Blog #6 - Week 10/25
This week I wanted to do the song Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles. I have been recently obsessed with this song and the new orchestrated version by Cody Fry. This song is obviously a very legendary song by The Beatles, but the cover hits hard. Back to the og though. This song is amazing and the instruments truly make the song in my opinion. The violin is my favorite part of the song and it's a lot different than anything that had been released at the time. The lyrics talk about the lonely ones in the world and how potentially if Eleanor Rigby and Father Mckenzie had met, maybe they wouldn't have lived and died such lonely people. The lyrics hit more deep when you feel like you are alone and I think that's the key audience of this song. When looking at the lyrics it makes you really appreciate the lyrical geniuses that consisted of The Beatles. The lyrics and instruments go perfectly with each other to create such an amazing song. This song is definitely a favorite of mine and the new version makes me feel like I’m in a movie or something haha. The og song will always be a banger.
I love your connection to this song and all the meaning you have put towards it. The song does really point to it's target audience and hits them hard like you said. The instruments and the lyrics do go perfectly in hand I do agree with you! I also really like your format of your blogs!!
ReplyDeleteI also listened to this song for my blog post this week and commented on a lot of the same stuff. I like how you brought up the Beatle's instrumental use in this song and pointed out that it's very dissimilar to a lot of the other music being released at the same time, it has an almost classical sound to it and, paired with their genius lyrics, makes an incredible song that only The Beatles could create.
