Listening Blog #3 - Week 10/4

For this week's blog post I decided that I wanted to listen to The Boswell Sisters, It Don’t Mean A Thing. This song is a roller coaster of feelings in my opinion. It goes from a very upbeat melody when the girls start singing but then later when it's just instrumentals it slows down quite a bit. It goes from a more relaxed song to a super fast song to slow again and then crazy fast after that. It's a good song and I've heard the saying “it don’t mean a thing if you ain't got that swing” before so it made the song feel like it was very familiar to me. The song makes me want to dance around in an old flapper dress, kind of like a scene out of The Great Gatsby. The Boswell sisters' voices blend so well together and I think it matches the instruments in the back perfectly. The target audience is definitely to dance around and like the song says swing.My favorite part of this song was definitely when it went from slow and then picked up pace very fast. It's like the break before you start dancing again. I enjoyed this song a lot and really like the vibe of it!
